Religion was a minefield in my relationship with my father back when I was a teenager. He was a believer, I wasn't. We still hold these positions but through time we have become more tolerant towards each other's views.

In the spring of 2008, I followed him on a five day trip to Mt. Athos, a self-governed territory in northern Greece which has been a haven for Orthodox Christian monks for the past thousand years.
